Conceptual Reality Series

Conceptual Reality is a series of black and white works based on the relationship between ideas and reality. I try to blend realistic with conceptual drawing to represent the blending of ideas and reality, which represents the reality of the human condition and experience.

"Sublime" a drawing done with watercolor, acrylic, pen, and pencil. Illustrates how man tries to grasp the universe with ideologies and ways of explaining how everything works. But man fails due to the fluctuating nature of the universe.

***This piece won an award at the Juried Student Art Exhibition at the Lowe Art Museum, a student art show at the University of Miami Department of Art & Art History****8

"Impermanence of Time" a drawing done in pencil, ink and acrylic. Seeks to explain the relationship between humanity, time, and the cycle of creation and destruction
"Grief" a drawing done in pencil, pen, and ink. When grief blinds you, it feels like the homes of your heart are crumbling around you, all connections become tense and break, and you are crumbling into nothingness.
"Power" a drawing done in pen, pencil, ink, and acrylic. Power comes from creating yourself from nothing, power is in knowing yourself well. Power comes from knowing how the universe works and how you can harness it.
"Ecstasy" a drawing done in pencil and watercolor.
"Nirvana" a painting done in watercolor, ink, and acrylic.
"Wonder" a painting done in watercolor, ink, and acrylic. Wonder is trying to understand the universe, and appreciating what part of the universe you have the fortune to see.
"Natural Union" a painting done in watercolor, ink, and pencil. We all return to nature in death, and find beauty in the natural world.
"Mortality" a drawing done in pen, pencil, ink, watercolor, and acrylic. Our own mortality leaves us slient, for who can object to the inevitable?
"Wanderer" a painting done in ink, acrylic, watercolor, and pen.
"Fragility" a painting done in watercolor, acrylic, and ink. Even the stars will fall and the mountains will crumble. Because even the most steadfast of systems is as fragile as the tenous strings between life and death, existence and nothing.
"Lost" a painting done in ink, acrylic, and pen. I'm lost, I'm fading, I can't tell if I was even real at all.
"Helpless" a painting done in ink, acrylic, and pen.
